Tasks

  • You are involved in the development of 0D/1D thermal runaway models with different levels of detail and thus contribute to the safety of battery systems
  • You will implement the modelling approaches in MATLAB/Simulink (Simscape) and replicate existing cell tests
  • You use optimization tools and develop approaches for automated parameter identification
  • You compare your parameterized models with the measurement results and evaluate the modelling fidelity according to previously defined criteria
  • You document your progress and present it regularly in order to successively optimize your models

Qualification

  • You are studying mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, computational engineering science, chemistry (engineering), energy technology or similar
  • You are interested in developing numerical simulation methods
  • You have basic knowledge in lithium-ion battery technology
  • You have simulation experience in MATLAB/Simulink and ideally Simscape
  • You are motivated to familiarize yourself with a complex topic and work independently, conscientiously and in a structured manner
