Tasks

■ Conduct safety analyses, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)

■ Develop and implement functional safety concepts in compliance with ISO 26262 standards for automotive systems

■ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate functional safety requirements into the design and development processes of automotive products

■ Define and manage safety goals and requirements throughout the product lifecycle

■ Support the creation and maintenance of safety-related documentation, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements

■ Interface with external certification authorities and actively participate in safety assessments

■ Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety plans and safety cases

■ Provide guidance to engineering teams on safety-related matters and conduct training sessions as needed

■ Stay informed about industry trends, tools and updates related to automotive functional safety, implementing best practices

Qualification

■ Master's degree in Mechatronic, Vehicle Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

■ Strong interest in Functional Safety Engineering in the automotive industry

■ Knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO/PAS 21448 (SOTIF) and practical application

■ Understanding of safety analysis techniques such as HAZOP, FTA, and FMEA

■ Knowledge of integrating safety requirements into the development life cycle

■ Strong interest in automotive technologies, including embedded systems, communication protocols, and software architecture

■ Experience in generating safety-related documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (is a plus)

■ Familiarity with certification processes and effective engagement with safety assessors

■ Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in teams

■ Capability to provide guidance and training on safety-related topics

■ Commitment to continuous improvement, staying current with industry advancements, and enhancing safety practices

■ Fluent English, German is a plus
