From our modern UK test and engineering centre in Coventry we work on exciting e-powertrain projects contributing to significant reduction in CO2 in transportation and mobility.

Tasks

As a Graduate Powertrain Engineer you will support the development and calibration of powertrain systems. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, gaining practical exposure to real-world engineering challenges while developing your technical and analytical capabilities.

  • Support calibration and development activities for conventional internal combustion, hybrid and battery electric powertrain systems
  • Assist in the collection, processing and analysis of test data
  • Work closely with senior engineers to support issue investigation and resolution
  • Contribute to validation activities, including test bench and vehicle-based testing
  • Participate in global test trips and development activities at customer sites
  • Develop knowledge of calibration tools, processes and methodologies

Qualification

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, with an automotive background preferred
  • Recent graduate or up to 1 year of relevant experience, including placements or internships
  • Basic understanding of powertrain systems, vehicle fundamentals, and automotive engineering principles
  • Fundamental knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and automation principles as applied to automotive applications
  • Exposure to calibration, data analysis, or automotive communication tools (e.g. INCA, CANalyzer) would be advantageous
  • Understanding of CAN bus systems, sensors, actuators, and data acquisition is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
