YOUR ROLE
- Lead and manage Cost Engineering and Value Engineering projects for international clients
- Develop and oversee complex should-cost models for products, systems, and components, preferably in automotive industry (BIW, Chassis, Interior, Exterior, Electric Powertrain, or E/E systems)
- Identify cost optimization opportunities across products, manufacturing processes, and supply chains
- Advise clients on design-to-cost, procurement optimization, and value improvement initiatives
- Support cost governance processes
- Conduct product benchmarking and competitive cost analyses
- Lead client workshops and steer cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain and finance
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and executive-level clients
- Manage project teams and mentor consultants and analysts
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and client acquisition
- Contribute to the growth and further development of FEV Consulting's Cost Engineering practice
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of professional experience in Cost & Value Management including project leadership responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in Cost Engineering, Product Cost Management, Value Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, or related consulting fields.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing technologies, industrial production processes, market dynamics, regulatory developments and transformation challenges affecting the sector.
- Proven experience in developing cost models and conducting cost analyses across complex products and systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI and reporting tools is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage client relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and growing businesses.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are considered an advantage.
- Willingness to travel if required by client engagements.
