Tasks
This master’s thesis presents the development of a Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) cockpit system using open-source tools and a Linux-based embedded platform, integrated with dSPACE simulation environments to test automotive HMI and ADAS functions. The system captures realistic driver inputs (steering, throttle, brake, gear) and connects them in real time to a dSPACE HIL setup, enabling closed-loop simulation of vehicle systems and driver behavior. Key focus areas include accurate emulation of cockpit components, real-time data exchange, and a Linux GUI for feedback and HMI prototyping. The project also tackles integration, timing synchronization, and interface standardization challenges. By combining open-source development with dSPACE simulation, this research provides a scalable, cost-effective solution for human-centered ADAS and HMI testing, supporting safer and more intuitive vehicle design.
Qualification
Master degree Students In Information Science, Telecommunication, Mechatronics, Electronics, Computer Science or equivalent.
