Your Tasks

• Check and assess1 the level of correctness and completeness of OBD technical documentation2 meant to be provided to the authorities during homologation process;

1. By “check and assess” is to be understood the following:

o Software documentation (mainly explanations and logical schemes – SIMULINK & ASCET symbols library) reading and understanding how a specific function works;

o Calibration parameters cross-check (usually in INCA) between the analyzed document and the appropriate vehicle/variant implementation;

o Building a comprehensive proof with available above data that the explanation in analyzed technical document presents the real implementation of the functionality and parametrization on the appropriate vehicle/variant;

2. By “technical documentation” is to be understood a series of documents that contains:

o Diagnostic failure codes (DFC) enabling conditions and thresholds in order to be successfully recreated;

o Explanations regarding emissions control devices (e.g. various functions deactivation as a function of ambient conditions, different combustion strategies that influence emissions, aftertreatment working strategies) that are active in calibration of the appropriate vehicle/variant;

• Collaborate with various clients (OEMs);

• Discuss during internal meetings with subject matter experts within FEV group, contributing to build your know-how and assess your way of thinking during a specific analysis;

• Ensure that the standards and requirements are respected

Your qualification

• Technical degree in Automotive engineering or equivalent is a must;

• Experience with calibration tools such as INCA considered a plus;

• Understanding of Automotive/Electronic systems is a must; 

• Ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal and written communication, such as client communications and technical information.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool-kit;

• Fluent in English and good command of technical language.
